The children have shown a keen interest in space, so we decided to explore the lifecycle of a star! We looked at the different stages of the star and learned the different names for them. We learned that there are two different paths the stars can go through, depending on their size. We also learned that at the end of the cycle a star turns into a blackhole. We decided to make our own blackhole using different materials and used the vacuum cleaner to “pull” all the material into the blackhole. The children also dressed up as astronauts and have really enjoyed the activity. We extended the activity by painting our own stages of the star.
