Life Cycle of a Frog
This week in the baby room we continued our Growth and Life cycles topic by focusing on the life cycle of a frog. To begin with we explored our frog book and learned that fogs eggs are called Frogspawn. We then explored our very own edible frogspawn made from jelly and raisins. We all really enjoyed using our hands and fingers to move around and try and pick up the wobbly jelly. We really strengthened our fine motor skills exploring the jelly and raisins and took tremendous pride in ourselves when we reached our goal of holding the jelly in our hands long enough to taste the jelly. To extend our learning further we then explored our very own messy frog pond. We helped our frogs jump across the different sized lilly pads and enjoyed jumping them into our jelly baff water. We extended this to include puppets and sang the “5 little speckled frogs” and “Little green frog” songs. This extended ou language skills as we created ribitt sounds and learned new words like “frog”, “log” and “Pad”. Well done babies what a great week of active and fun learning and developing our skills.
