Life cycle of a Dinosaur
This week in the toddler room we continued our growth and life cycles topic by following our interest in dinosaurs. We looked at the life cycle of a dinosaur. We began by following the life cycle through a tuft tray activity where we examined the sequence starting from the egg to baby dinosaur and then growing into a big adult dinosaur. We extended this on to how we know and learn about dinosaurs through finding fossils and added this to the sequence in our tray. We then extended this by freezing some dinosaur bones to create our own fossils. Once our fossils were frozen we then tried to dig out the bones to match them to our dinosaurs. We used our motor skills to try and test a variety of tools to break our dinosaurs out of the ice. We needed a lot of patience and concentration to get our dinosaurs out of the ice. This was a great way to challenge our skills and thinking while having lots of fun. Well done toddlers!
