This week in baby room we have been enjoying the lovely weather.  All of the babies have recently become very keen on water play so we decided to have a large scale water play session.  We used water trays at two levels to encourage and give the opportunity to stand and cruise around the higher tray for the babies who are beginning to pull themselves up to standing and used a lower water tray for the babies not at this yet at this stage and for the babies who preferred to sit and explore the water.  We used cascades giving the opportunity for the children to slide some of the equipment down and make a splash. And provided them with resources to aid their curiosity with filling, emptying, and pouring. The babies’ favourite part of this activity was splashing in the water and giggling when the splashes caught their faces.
