Let is Snow!

This week in the toddler room we continued our winter theme through exploring snow. Masiha helped us with a tuft tray activity where we added some baking powder to the tray and then squeezed some conditioner on top. As we added our ingredients we took part in  a safety discussion outlining what we should do. We all agreed that we shouldn’t eat the things in the tray or put it on our faces. We then used wooden spoons to mix the baking powder and conditioner which then blended together to make a snow like texture. We were able to explore touching and moulding with our “snow”. Some of us tried to build a snowman. We then extended this further by adding our arctic and Antarctic animals and ice resources to the tray. We then role played in our snow with the animals making them stomp around and climb the ice berg. We really enjoyed creating our own scenarios in the snow and relating them to our own experiences.
