Interfaith week
To celebrate interfaith week in the preschool room we separated in to different groups to research chosen religions. We used the iPads to do our research learning about technology and how we can retrieve information, we discussed internet safety before searching the internet. We used our writing skills on large-scale paper to present our findings, which we then showed to our friends in a circle time teaching them all we learned. We also used the touch and tilt to do a whole room discussion on what we learned about faith and what we believed in, the children used words like “magical” and “exciting” when talking about how it feels to believe in someone. The children worked very hard on their presentations and showed good confidence when presenting their findings. Well done preschool you worked incredibly hard and did an amazing job!
In toddler rooms we read the book “hats of faith” linking interfaith week to literacy. In this book we learned about the different cultural hats and why they are worn and why they are special. We then mimicked these hats in roleplay using chiffon scarves for recreation. We had lots of fun styling the hats and seeing our friends model them also. Toddlers you listened to the story really well and sat very still whilst having the hats styled on you and showed great excitement when wearing the hats, well done!
To celebrate interfaith week in baby room , the babies explored a few different items from different cultures they enjoyed playing the traditional drums and also playing with the multicultural baby dolls that were dressed up in traditional cultural fabrics. The babies then had the opportunity to explore different materials associated with all the different cultures and they even had the chance to wear a few traditional pieces of clothing which the babies loved because it was very bright and colourful and had beautiful patterns. Well done babies!
