Honey Bees
The toddlers have had a keen interest in the honey bees that have been buzzing around the garden. We have been observing them and helping them to drink and collect water when in the water station. We then learned about how honey bees collect water and pollen to take back to their hive to help create honey. We then got creative and made our own hives through collaging with wavy materials. We then scraped some honey (marmalade) off of our hives like honey collectors do. Once we had collected all of our “honey” we then made some lovely sandwiches. We worked very hard on our fine motor skills throughout these activities learning how to scrape and spread using knives. We all loved adding our sandwiches to our afternoon snack and were all so proud of what we had made. Great job toddlers!
