Goldilocks and the three Bears
This week in the toddler room to promote National Story telling month we focused on one of our favourite stories, Goldilocks and the three bears. We focused on our interest in role play and played out different parts of the book. For our first activity we explored a large tuft tray filled with oats. We used different utensils to fill up the bowls and feed our bears. As we played we listened to the story that helped us to link key words and phrases to our play promoting new language and vocabulary. For our next activity we went out into the big garden to test out different sized chairs. We used bears and masks to role play the different characters of the story creating voices and sounds as we pretended. For our final activity we explored different sized beds. We played with bears and helped put them to “bed”. We then created our own role play and scenarios. Throughout these activities we were able to learn new maths skills through comparing size and depth. We also have become more confident counting to three. Great job toddlers what lovely role playing this week.
