Forest Animals

This week in toddler room we stated our new topic of Autumn. For our first week we looked at animals that live in the forest. We created a forest tuft tray using all the Autumn things we had collected over the week. A big thank you to everyone that helped us by collecting things on their walks and outings. We really enjoyed moving the animals around the crunchy leaves enjoying the different sounds they make. While we played we listened and learned about the changes that happen around us when it becomes Autumn. Leyla read us the Autumn book. We learned about forest animals and that some of them only come out at nighttime called nocturnal animals. To extend this further we then sorted animals into ones that are nocturnal and ones that are not using our soft toy animals and puppets. We also used the touch and tilt table to extend our knowledge and explore our use of ICT resources. We looked at real animals and compared them to ones they already knew. Well done toddlers what a great week of learning.
