Flying High in the sky
This week in the toddler room we continued our transport topic by focusing on airplanes. To begin with we took part in a fine motor activity where we placed cardboard airplanes on top on some string and let them go. We really enjoyed watching how fast they went along the string. We prepared our planes for take off and pushed them back up along the string. We tested lots of different ways to make our planes fly fast and slow. To further extend our learning we explored a sky themed tuft tray and flew our airplanes around. We created noises and sounds while move our planes and helicopters around the tray and in the air. As we were all very curious about airplanes and how they worked we used the touch and tilt table to research and look at some airplanes. We watched how they take off and were very excited by how fast they move. We also liked looking at the views from the sky looking at how small the buildings and cars looked. We then watched the plane landing looking at its wheels and how it gets safely back to the ground. We then tried to fly our own airplanes testing how far we could throw them. Great job toddlers.
