Finger Prints Make Us Unique
This week to carry on from our amazing role play of people who help us we all took on the role of being Police detectives. We listened and learnt that sometimes the Police use finger prints to identify people. We asked questions like “how do we do our finger prints?” so I went on to explain the Police officers can use ink pads to press peoples fingers into and then press them onto the paper to show their finger print. Preschool used magnifying glasses to look at our own individual prints and patterns on our little fingers, it was so cool!
To extend this activity we all took on the roles of becoming a Police detective, and used the ink pads to press our friends fingers into and then onto the finger print paper. We also learnt that each fingerprint is different on each of our hands, how cool is that!
We thoroughly enjoyed this activity and used great detective skills and use of our own knowledge on how the Police and help us in our community.
