Feed the Birds
This week in the toddler room we continued our Spring topic by taking part in some bird feeding activities. For the first part of our activity we used our mathematical skills to feed birds by colour coordinating “food” to put into the correct birds mouth. We used our motor skills to work tongs and spoons to scoop up the food into the matching birds mouth. To further extend this activity we made our own bird feeders by threading cereals onto string and then sticking them together. This was a good activity to help with our hand eye co ordination and fine motor skills as we carefully threaded cheerio's. We extended our language skills by learning new songs about birds our favourite is ten little birdies that also encourages counting and finger play. Well done toddlers!
