Features

In the toddler room this week we continued our all about me topic by looking at ourselves and our features. During small group times we talked about our features and how everyone is different. We explored our eye colours and hair colour through mirrors and discussions with friends. We then extended this by creating our own person. We drew around our friend and stuck on some features. We enjoyed choosing different eyes, noses and mouths and comparing how they all looked together. We then used paint to add some handprint hands. We all decided that we didn’t want our person to have feet, so we gave them extra hands. We added some spaghetti hair to go on top. We next found some clothes for them. Some of us chose some dungarees for them to wear. To further extend this we explored some playdough where we made our own people. We used our hands to mould and create the different features we wanted to add. Well done toddlers, what a great week of learning.
