Exploring Light and Dark

This week we challenged the babies’ curiosity by exploring light and dark. To do this we all went into the sensory room where we had set up the light table with some sensory items and light up boxes. The children were able to explore manipulating shapes to create different colours. They also did lots of building and stacking using the light boxes. The children then were able to explore the other lights around the sensory room. They loved the never ending mirror lights and the sound box. There was lots of pointing and excited babbles. We then extended this further by adding torches and shiny material for the babies to explore. They enjoyed shining the torches around the sensory room watching the shapes and patterns they create.
