Euros

This week in preschool, we talked about the Euro's! Following on from the children's football session on Monday, we talked about how the different countries in Europe play football together. We asked the children who has watched any of the games with their loved ones and a few had said that their mums and dads watch it. The children enjoyed lots of different ways to play football in nursery. Preschool enjoyed playing football using a blanket in the garden! They had to use their gross motor skills to hold the blanket and navigate the ball into the goals! The children loved the activity and were very excited when they scored. One child shouted "Goal!" The children then extended their play indoors with miniature football using lego to build goal posts. The children split into two teams and took it in turns to try and blow the ball into the goal posts! The children experimented with different balls and found that the hollow pink ball was best. They then used the same field and played football using finger puppets! Pre school loved playing finger football and were extremely happy when they scored! Preschool also looked at the different flags of Europe and drew their own. They described the different flags using words such as "stripes" and "colourful". To finish the topic the children had a look at the euros in action through a short clip on the touch and tilt table.
