Delicious Vegetable soup
This week to celebrate National soup month and promote healthy eating the toddlers made some delicious vegetable soup. We took a trip to Dalston market to buy some lovely vegetables. We were able to observe different fruits and vegetables on the stalls. We also were able to watch interactions between the people in our local community. Everyone at the market was very friendly. We then chose which vegetables we would need to buy. We chose carrots, onion, leek and potato. We had lots of fun finding them on the market stalls. Once we were back at nursery we shared with all our friends the things we had bought and seen during our small circle times. This was a lovely way for us to share experiences and have a proud sense of self. Our next step was to make the soup. We used our fine motor skills to chop all of our ingredients and added them to a big pot we discussed the health and safety issues of using knives lots of us said “careful” and “Sharp”. Once they were added to the pot we made some vegetable stock and sprinkled in some herbs. We then mixed it all together in the blender. It was then left to cook. We shared our soup with everyone at nursery at tea time. Well done toddlers your soup was delicious!
