Dear Zoo

For our fantasy and fiction topic the babies have focussed on a few of our most loved stories. This week to promote the babies growing love of animals we decided to focus on ‘Dear Zoo’ The babies are very keen on books they can interact with so they thoroughly enjoyed lifting the flaps to find out which animal they would see as well as pressing the different buttons to hear the animal sounds. We read the story with the babies a few times and each time they were becoming more and more keen to interact, so we decided to create a ‘Dear Zoo’ themed sensory tray in order to bring the story to life. The babies were very keen to explore the messy resources within the tray, but their most favourite part was interacting with the adults whilst they pretended to be the different animals the babies chose from the tray.
