Colourful Ice

This week in the toddler room we started our winter theme by exploring ice. For our first activity we took part in an experiment. We used pipettes and dropped different colours onto the ice. We explored adding lots of colour and just a little colour to observe the difference and changes in the ice. Our favourite was mixing the colours to try and create rainbow ice. This was a fun way to see that when some colours are mixed together they create a new colour. We loved creating orange and purple. For our next activity we extended our coloured ice experiment to explore making marks with ice. We used the coloured ice we had created and took part in a large floor activity where we could paint and make marks. We loved creating patterns and lines to create our beautiful picture.
