Chuckles the Elf

Chuckles the Elf

This week for the start of our Christmas festivities, we had a special visit from our new friend Chuckles the Elf! We returned from garden time to find that he had delivered our amazing Christmas Tree along with a special note and package!

The children were so excited to find our Elf Chuckles sitting in our tree and couldn’t wait to read the note for us. We read the note to discover that he had been sent by Santa from the North Pole to hand deliver us letters to write to Santa, and that he would be taking them back with him to deliver to Santa personally at the North Pole! He also told us that he might be playing some jokes and tricks on us whilst he was visiting!

The children were ready to write their letters to Santa using their fine motor skills and early literacy skills, with the help from the adults when needed. This offered the children many new language opportunities, conversation starters and supported their PSED development as their excitement shone through whilst speaking about what they would like for Christmas!

We listened to Christmas music whilst writing our letters to Santa, to get us in the festive spirit! We can’t wait to see what our friend Chuckles gets up to in the lead up to Christmas!
