Celebrating Cultures

This week in preschool we celebrated each other’s culture and heritage! The children brought in items from their culture and did a show and tell with their friends. They took it in turns to show and explain their items. One of the children showed her “Hawaii is a rainbow” book and turned to a page which had hoola dancers. She then showed us some hoola moves whilst listening to some Hawaiian music! Another child brought in some snacks from Ireland to which other children said, “I’m from Ireland too!” The children loved talking about their heritage and culture. Some children even talked about sentimental items such special Estonian gloves that a child’s mum made and a football t-shirt that was the child’s dad’s.
