Bubbles Experiments
This week in toddler room we tested our ideas by doing some bubble experiments. Our first experiment we all mixed some washing up liquid with water and paint. We each chose a colour to add to our mixture. We then collected some straws and practiced blowing into them. We then blew into our mixture. We really loved watching the bubbles grows and multiply the more we blew into them. We then pressed paper onto the top of our bubbles and created some beautiful prints. We tried this with different coloured bubbled and added them to our prints creating a lovely rainbow bubble print. For our second experiment we used some recycled bottles that were cut in half we added some material to the bottom of the bottle and dipped them into our colourful mixture. We made predictions of what might happen this time. We blew into the bottles and this created really long bubbles. We loved seeing how long we could make them and seeing if we could create different shapes when we moved around. We tried mixing colours to see what would happen. We really enjoyed seeing the new colours it would make. We decided it looked like an elephants trunk using words like “elephant trunk”, “long bubbles” and “rainbow”. We then extended this further by creating our own rainbows using different marking materials. Well done toddlers what a great week of experimenting and testing ideas.
