Black History month
The toddlers went on a trip round our local community to explore different cultures and to gather more of an understanding of black history. First we went through Dalston market where we saw vegetables that are native to Africa like sweet potato and Okra, as we got to the end of the market we spotted a fabric stall with cultural prints, we spoke about the colours and patterns we saw and was mesmerized by the imagery. We then went to the library where we borrowed books that further explored black history and even found a newspaper article celebrating it! It was so much fun and we thoroughly enjoyed diving into different cultures and history!
