Balloon Splat

This week in the toddler room we enjoyed doing large scale painting in the big garden. We used string attached to balloons and carefully dipped them into paint. We then were able splat the paint onto large card. This was a great physical and creative activity where we could explore our gross motor skills while enjoying seeing the marks and prints we could make. We experimented with different patterns and tested what happened if we made the string longer or shorter. We also tried holding onto the balloons with our hands to see what effects that made too. When we were finished with the balloons we then dipped our hands and fingers into the paint and enjoyed making our own marks on the card. Well done toddlers what a creative activity for our display board.
