Autumnal Exploration
We have had a very busy week this week in the toddler room. We learned and explored all about Autumn. For our first activity we talked about the Autumn harvest and looked at which vegetables are harvested this season. We then explored a textured tuft tray where we could explore and dig up our own vegetables. We loved exploring the textures and filling and emptying containers. We also enjoyed tasting some of the carrots. We then extended this by looking at some Autumn themed sensory materials and then did some painting and mark making with different materials. We used Autumnal themed coloured paint and tested the effects of different materials like sponges, tooth brushes and different textured dabbers and brushes. We enjoyed the toothbrushes and the large paint brushes the most. For our final activity in the role play kitchen we explored some orange sensory playdough. We added different herbs and spaghetti to our playdough to create wonderful plates of food. We enjoyed exploring and tasting oranges as we played and the sensory experience of the orange smelling playdough. We loved being creative and re living our own experiences from home like cooking with our parents. Great job toddlers what a lovely week of exploring.
