Autmn Sensory Tray
This week we continued looking at the autumn theme. Our lovely teacher Esther created a sensory tray with lots of different textures. We explored this tray alongside our peers also reading the book provided “Autumn” we explored the maths side of this counting all the leaves and attempt to group them. This tray was very messy, and children had their own ideas such as transporting the sensory texture with spoons and enclosing them in smaller places.
We also explored a farm animal tray that Nabeelah has set up to look at simple farm animals who live on the farm. These animals lived in different textured cereal which the children loved the “taste” sensory experience. We grouped the animals in category’s and continued the maths side of learning. Understanding which animal is bigger or smaller, how many in each pack also using numbers one to five.
Well done for this week playing alongside and with peers, we have been encouraging our younger children to cruise around standing furniture to prompt our walking milestone.
