Our lovely teacher Natasha set up a lovely artic tray in the black tuff tray getting us into the spirit of Christmas. This tray consisted of snow texture, cotton wool, artic animals such as penguins and polar bears. Children was encouraged to join in role play to encourage imagination and creative thinking and for children who are learning to walk for it to encourage standing and cruising around the tray. We extended this by asking open questions of where do they animals live? What do they eat? Who lives in the family. We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely cold activity.
