A visit from the tooth fairy!
This week in preschool we learned about the tooth fairy and about the importance of brushing our teeth! Using the touch and tilt, they started out by learning about their teeth and how we should brush our teeth. Preschool put this knowledge to the test by using an interactive game, where they had to clean all the germs off the teeth. They really enjoyed the activity, so we decided to create our own version of the game. They made their own toothpaste and uses toothbrushes to brush all the germs away.
We further extended this activity by flossing the ‘plaque’ off the ‘teeth’ and sorting out the different foods that are good for our teeth and food that are not so good for our teeth. For our final activity, we made fairy wings and a fairy wand to role play as tooth fairies! The children took it in turns to role play as the tooth fairy and the child who lost their tooth. The children learned that the tooth fairy takes your teeth away and turns them into stars and sometimes may leave something special for the children such as a letter, or even a gold coin!
